New products
Since I have been natural, I have been trying new products. I have kinky-curly hair which is beautiful and thick as can be. I get upset sometimes, but I remember when my hair was breaking out due relaxers.
A product I tried was miss jesssies stretch silkening creme. I truly like the product. I did a coil out and it worked very well. It was not too thick as the pudding. However, the product ask for you to air dry, so I say that if your hair is longer, set under the dry on low for a few minutes. If your hair is short, let the air do it's thing. Blessings.
10/20: I have been playing around with my hair and I noticed that when I did my afro style, I can make my hair longer during week. What I did was part my hair into three across sections and did chunky two strand twists. When I separated the parts, I applied a little bit of miss jessie baby buttercreme on the section I was twisting. The next day, I untwist and gentle pulled my hair apart to make it full. From there, you can use a metal pik or wide tooth comb to add volume. Also, if you have a buildup on your hair, and don't want to wash it yet, use one cup of apple cider vinegar with one cup water. Rinse your hair and put this in your hair and scalp. It will take out product build up and it's good for your scalp too. Style as usual. Blessings. PS. I also added some stretch silkening creme while it was wet. Also, I will state that each style will vary due to hair texture, length and thickness.
12/24: Currently, I have being pressing my hair. My hair is more managable and my curl pattern is loose. It's not bad at all and I had to change up my products due to the change in weather. I have been using Carol's Daughters Shampoo and Black Vanilla Leave in Conditioner. When I press my hair, I use the Honey Hair Mimosa because it has no water in it. I am amazed that my hair is now to my shoulders. Happy Holidays !!
3/1.I had to do the big chop again due to a hairstyle that made my length uneven. Hair will grow back, so I am not upset over the situation. Plus, my new job has me working crazy hours, so it's nice that I do not have to deal with long hair for a while. I am still using miss jessie, virgin olive oil, and conditioners even for my short style. I am blessed to have a good barber I have known for a while keeping it neat. Well, I will continue to give input as my hair grow back. blessings.
