- Michael is Director of Global Shared Services for Microsoft Corporation with responsibility for Accounting Services, Procure to Pay, HR Services and the Organizational Excellence team. His recent accomplishments include driving the development and establishment of a set of compelling metrics resulting in efficiencies in areas of opportunities and business needs. Under Michael’s leadership, Microsoft’s Shared Services Operations defined a new world class standard in accounts payable & employee expense processing, as noted by a 2006 Hackett study (Cost per invoice and cost per expense report, $1.06 and $1.01, respectively) Previous World Class standard $1.93 and $2.86. Michael is a current member of Microsoft’s Corporate Leadership Bench program and a March 2007 graduate of Microsoft’s Finance Leadership Bench program.
Before joining Microsoft, Michael worked for Spherion Corporation as Director of Shared Services. He was responsible for providing finance and administrative services for the company, servicing over 900 field offices. While at Spherion, he was instrumental in the migration of the SSC from its Legacy systems to PeopleSoft (ERP). Prior to Spherion, Michael had thirteen years of business and financial management experience with ANC Rental Corp. (Alamo Rent A Car & National Car Rental) as Director of Accounting Services; Aramark Services as Controller; and as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps.
Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Alabama A&M University, and a MBA with a concentration in Accounting and International Business. He has several years of successful experience in various Shared Services operations, business analysis, acquisitions, budgeting, P&L, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit, Collections, and general accounting. In his spare time, Michael enjoys coaching youth sports, traveling, and spending time with his wife and three children. Lambda Alpha Alpha Chapter, Omega Psi Phi,

Recently, I've been approaching highway driving a little differently. I look for opportunities to help another motorist out. I try to be a bit more aware of a turn signal that I can respond to rather than driving in the zone.
