I'm a 1968 graduate with a major in English Education. I received my Master's degree in Special Education from Georgia State UIniversity and The Ph.D in Educational Leadership from LaSalle University. I am retired from DeKalb County,GA Schools.
I am married to John Slones and we reside in Atlanta, Ga. We have two children, Mark(Katrina) and Leah(a senior at Alabama A&M). I have a 5 year old grandson, Jordan.
I am very active in my church, A&M Alumni Association, Atlanta Chapter and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
My hobbies are traveling, shopping, playing cards, board games and spending time with my grandson.

Recently, I've been approaching highway driving a little differently. I look for opportunities to help another motorist out. I try to be a bit more aware of a turn signal that I can respond to rather than driving in the zone. What would happen if we all approached highway driving with the focus on helping each other arrive safely at our destinations? What if it were a team effort?
