For those of you that have not yet decided on where you will be tailgating next weekend at the Magic City Classic or if by chance you have, we invite you to stop by or attend the 1st Annual 2008 Classic Tailgate hosted by the MMW Alumni. Proceeds from donations will be used to support future MMW Alumni events. This event will be catered by Momma Annies out of Huntsville , AL., owned by one of our very own, Micah (Mozart) Carter. Therefore if you did not get it all out of your system at Homecoming with the MMW Alumni, you have another chance to do so at this year's Magic City Classic! Donations are $30 per person, $60 per couple or family. Peace and Happy Classic Week!

I am hosting a small "watch the debate party" as I type this, because I have guests I must not get too ghetto and yell at the screen. This debate is wearing me out, because I can't yell and act bad. Mccain is a sociopath, (we need spell check on this) he lies and makes it up as he goes along. I think that we will be in danger if he is elected. Mccain will say anything to get elected, but he will not look out for the middle class black or white, no matter what rhetoric he spews on television. What I don't get is why so many whites are saying (not out loud) they won't vote for Obama because he is black. You would think that by now they would need a better reason. Mcain is a very angry man, he is like the child who when caught with his hand in the cookie jar says "but Suzy got one too" Calling attention to anothers faults does not make yours go away especially if you are lying. Notice McCain has not said "that's not true" to half as much as Obama had said. If American ever needed "divine intervention" it is needed now, for this election.

Check out this article by my man Roland Martin. He gets on Sara Palin, not bashing and propaganda, but with the facts. Njoy!

FYI!!!!!!!

For those of us who normally vote "Straight Democratic", please pay
close attention!!!!! I was informed this weekend by a group of Obama Volunteers that when voting for the presidential candidate this November, you have to make sure you punch Barack's name first, then proceed to punch "Straight Democratic" or else the vote for the President won't count. I'm not sure if any of you are aware of this, but we know they won't tell us this at the polls. Please make sure you inform others.

LOOK IT UP AND BE AWARE!! The URL for the information source is:

Miss Alabama A&M 2008'09,Janine Bates, a native of Anniston, Alabama, is the daughter of Rev. George and Mrs. Cathryn Bates. She is a senior majoring in Secondary Education Mathematics. Janine is a proud member of the Delta Delta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, as well as the AAMU Honors Center. She will carry out her student-empowerment platform by continuing the W.A.I.T. Mentoring Program, establishing a book club that focuses on connecting with our history, and bringing young black alumni back to "The Hill" to speak about how they overcame obstacles to achieve their goals. Janine believes that if we as a people can connect with our past as well as have a positive example of what our future could be, we can do anything we set forth to do.

Success is a Team Sport Posted By : Cheryl E. Cook

Recently, I've been approaching highway driving a little differently. I look for opportunities to help another motorist out. I try to be a bit more aware of a turn signal that I can respond to rather than driving in the zone. What would happen if we all approached highway driving with the focus on helping each other arrive safely at our destinations? What if it were a team effort?
