Alright teachers if you have made it to Christmas you will probably made it to the end of the school year. So how are things going? Enjoy the holiday season and get ready for testing. Thanks to all educators we love you and can't stop thanking you for going the extra mile for all of our boys and girls.

Okay everybody. If you didn't know, I have created motivational songs for the CRCT. I've gotten a great response from the songs from over 19 counties around the state, with members at the State of GA DOE, and South Carolina. As such, I have now created yet another website to reach out to all of the people that have enjoyed the music. The site is primarily created to discuss the songs and their impact, schedule performances, and collaborate on issues. If you are interested, I would really appreciate the support. Take Care.

Here's the site: http://imotivate.ning.com

Stanks!

The answer(in my opinion) is standards based education. Most of us focus on the minimum requirements needed to address the test - but teaching overarching standards are the difference between proficiency and advanced.

Hey Winston,
I am a major cheerleader for coaching. I'm not sure if your building has any instructional coaches. The concept is easy but, mastery takes time. If your teachers are happy, your students are happy. I would definitely spend some time assessing the needs of my staff. The data will speak for itself. I am SO SICK and tired of AYP!!I am hoping that our guy wins this election so, that we can get back to educating children!

Miss Alabama A&M 2008'09,Janine Bates, a native of Anniston, Alabama, is the daughter of Rev. George and Mrs. Cathryn Bates. She is a senior majoring in Secondary Education Mathematics. Janine is a proud member of the Delta Delta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, as well as the AAMU Honors Center. She will carry out her student-empowerment platform by continuing the W.A.I.T. Mentoring Program, establishing a book club that focuses on connecting with our history, and bringing young black alumni back to "The Hill" to speak about how they overcame obstacles to achieve their goals. Janine believes that if we as a people can connect with our past as well as have a positive example of what our future could be, we can do anything we set forth to do.

Hello, Colleagues. You know AYP requirements go up this year. How are some of you who are in high minority pop schools handling preparing students? We have RTI, common planning, common assessments, PLC culture, tutoring during and after school, and resource teachers. Our "missed it" group was the Blacks and disabled students. Heeellpppp!

Success is a Team Sport Posted By : Cheryl E. Cook

Recently, I've been approaching highway driving a little differently. I look for opportunities to help another motorist out. I try to be a bit more aware of a turn signal that I can respond to rather than driving in the zone. What would happen if we all approached highway driving with the focus on helping each other arrive safely at our destinations? What if it were a team effort?

Are You Growing Stars? Posted By : Cheryl E. Cook

Are you developing Rising Stars in your business or are they just Good-Luck-with-Getting-Your-Order-Right trainees? Are you laying out what you are expecting them to become? How do you set the stage for new employees, new contractors to become stars in your business?
