Okay folks after talking with the Tracy over at First Fridays Huntsville. I t would be more cost efficient to let them take care of the event planning. They will have a 3 night itinerary. Including a martini party at Zig Zags, and a Old Skool party where he is trying to get Showboat . Their events are quite successful as you can see form last years pics . http://firstfridayshuntsville.myphotoalbum.com/albums.php

The people from first friday are alumni. We dont have the a dime . How can we rent a venue ,security ,and hire a dj!!! Are you an active alumnus???

eric with all due respect i dont know how true that is. Im just saying i would rather support an AAMU alumnus to plan the homecoming 08 events. Its really not about the money aspect and yes im an active alumnus and I have donated to the Councill Challenge Fund since its inception. thanks for inquiring!

Well according to Tracy him and his wife are natives of Huntsville . he went to AAMU for grad school and his sife went to aamu for Undergrad. These activites are separate from the National Alumni Assc. This started out as a function for the bulldogs of the 80's.

It is all about the money . You cannot secure a venue for an event without it . nor can you get security or a dj. I have been dealing with events for alumni for 23 years and i know intentions are good
but when it comes down to paying for these events ( which deposits would be due now ) I am not able to handle that myself.
First Fridays has a list of the parties we wanted , they are finding and securing the venues djs and the other non party related events we are doing. I am in SC and have 2 jobs and in school My time is limited.

Eric all im saying is one business entity doesn't have a monoply on throwing Official AAMU homecoming events. If Mr. Tracy is an alumnus along with his wife maybe they can join us on this site and discuss there plans for homecoming along with other aamu alumnus promoters.Yes, it is somewhat difficult to get all those things you listed in order but its not impossible. As you can see people realize this will be a big weekend and if anything I wish "AAMU" to benefit from this and not just one or two promotional groups looking for a cash cow.

Okay . The Official Homecoming events will be and have always been planned and thrown by the National alumni. Our national dues go to fund homecoming classic and founders days events. This all started as a group of us early 80s alumni wanted to do something for us during homecoming and other different entities on the site. But this site is not a part of the alumni assc. I am . This group was going to help the A&M Alumni Network aka The Bulldog Nation with our events . Many different groups including all of the frats and several other organizaitions have Huntsville booked up . It will up us to decide where to go . We are not in it to make money . That is immoral to me to be a 23yr member of the National Alumni making money off the name. besides thats illegal . these are just the Bulldog Nation functions .Just as I am working with the band and choir on corporate sponsers for our presentations during homecoming. I am one person all i want is the best for my alma mater.

Success is a Team Sport Posted By : Cheryl E. Cook

Recently, I've been approaching highway driving a little differently. I look for opportunities to help another motorist out. I try to be a bit more aware of a turn signal that I can respond to rather than driving in the zone. What would happen if we all approached highway driving with the focus on helping each other arrive safely at our destinations? What if it were a team effort?
