1977-1982. One of my cherished memories was the year it snowed and classes were cancelled and we had a campus snowball fight and sliding down the hill on cardboard boxes after dark. I loved it so much at AAMU I stayed another year,(really waiting on my now husband who played football). My mother threaten to graduate and come home. LOL!!! That was the life, no bills, no kids, no responsibilities other than good grades.

Oh my goodness! Brenda brought back so many memories. I left the hill in December, 1974. The "Block" was the bomb! We used to sit out and listen to WENN and Tall Paul and watch everybody go by. It was the place to be. The "Hill" was one of the best times in my life. Some of us could never keep curfew. We didn't have co-ed dorns (at least legal - haha). I had a 1967 brown mustang with 3 speeds. Gosh, I would love to see everybody....

Miss Alabama A&M 2008'09,Janine Bates, a native of Anniston, Alabama, is the daughter of Rev. George and Mrs. Cathryn Bates. She is a senior majoring in Secondary Education Mathematics. Janine is a proud member of the Delta Delta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, as well as the AAMU Honors Center. She will carry out her student-empowerment platform by continuing the W.A.I.T. Mentoring Program, establishing a book club that focuses on connecting with our history, and bringing young black alumni back to "The Hill" to speak about how they overcame obstacles to achieve their goals. Janine believes that if we as a people can connect with our past as well as have a positive example of what our future could be, we can do anything we set forth to do.

Everybody wants to forget falling down a hill at least once, and hoping nobody saw you. Hey Sorors Beale and Wallace.

Freshman class fall 74/spring75, what about that "food fight" in the cafe with Tuskeegee. Most of all just coming outside the cafe sitting on "the block" listening to music, drinking "Red Dagger" and smoking tuskies(today's blunts) on the grass hill beside the music building, shooting ball in the old gym, Dean Rice, Coach Cruz(and is Spanish teaching wife)...I could go on and on!! Hope to see some of this group at the 2008 Hall of Fame game.

Success is a Team Sport Posted By : Cheryl E. Cook

Recently, I've been approaching highway driving a little differently. I look for opportunities to help another motorist out. I try to be a bit more aware of a turn signal that I can respond to rather than driving in the zone. What would happen if we all approached highway driving with the focus on helping each other arrive safely at our destinations? What if it were a team effort?
